大埔鷺鳥林 / Tai Po Egretry
大埔鷺鳥林是一片面積約1.2公頃的林地，位於黃肇枝中學和大埔墟港鐵路站附近的小山丘上 。
The site is a small woodland situated on a small hill adjacent to Wong Shiu Chi Middle School and Tai Po Market KCR Station. The area is about 1.2 hectares.
在繁殖季節期間，夜鷺丶小白鷺和池鷺會在鷺鳥林之中築巢，而鳥巢築於靠近人類活動地點比較不常見。林地本身由許多大樹組成，但隨著大埔新市鎮的發展，這類林地大埔墟變得越來越稀有。
The woodland is used by a colony of Night Herons (Nycticorax nycticorax), Little Egrets (Egretta garzetta) and Chinese Pond Herons (Ardeola bacchus) as nesting siteduring the breeding season. The close proximity of this egrety to human activities is very interesting.
The woodland itself consists of a number of large and mature trees. Such kind of woodland is now becoming rare in the Tai Po Market area after the development of Tai Po New Town.

周邊不斷增加的開發活動會對大埔鷺鳥林造成威脅，開發活動可能干擾雀鳥及雀巢，例如偷獵和偷蛋或對環境有損害。
The main threats come from the increasing development activities around the site which could lead to greater chances of disturbance to the breeding birds and their nests (e.g. from poaching and stealing of eggs), as well as physical damage to the site itself.
