The site consists of the higher slopes of Tai Mo Shan. The area is about 95 hectares.
地點是一些非常見鳥類的繁殖棲息地，大帽山也是四種極為稀有的蛇的棲息地，其中三種於香港僅在大帽山頂或附近被發現 。
The site is the habitat for the breeding populations of exclusively montane birds. It is also the habitat of four species of snakes, all of which are extremely rare and three of which have been found in Hong Kong only on or near the summit of Tai Mo Shan.
