平洲 / Ping Chau
平洲位於大鵬灣，格網座標為KV3596，面積111.4公頃。
The site is the Ping Chau Island on Mirs Bay. The G.R. is KV3596 and the area is about 111.4 hectares.
平洲於地質上具特殊科學價值，該島上的岩石和土壤於大鵬灣具有相當的代表性。這裡的些沉積物由砂岩和頁岩所組成，呈鮮紅色，這一類地質於香港僅限分佈於大鵬灣的島嶼上。
The geology of the island is of special interest.
The rock and soil is representative of the Mirs Bay Sediments which are one of the most interesting formations. These sediments are composed of sandstones and shales and have a bright red colour and are limited in their distribution in Hong Kong to the islands on Mirs Bay and to the northern slope of Tolo Peninsula.
