汀角沿岸邊的泥沙和淤泥適合紅樹林的形成，於這潮間帶沉積物交替被潮汐暴露和覆蓋。紅樹林裡有不同品種的紅樹，包括秋茄樹丶蠟燭果丶欖李丶白骨壤和木欖，汀角底土層粗糙及鹽度甚高，紅樹在形態和生理上表現出顯著的適應性。生物學老師經常於汀角使用樣帶採樣來演示植物的演替。

The site shows the characterisitic habitat of the mangrove formation in the coastal deposits of mud and silt which are alternatively exposed and covered by the tides. This area is frequently used by the Biology teacher to demonstrate transect sampling of the plant succession. The mangrove community consists of Kandelia candel, Aegiceras corniculatum, Lumnitzera rzcemosa, Avicennia marine and Bruguiera confugata which show the remarkable morphological and physiological adaptation to the subtratum.
