The woodland consists of many species of trees, shrubs and herbs, but three species are special interest.
A herb of the impatiens genus occurs in the woodland. Although it has been sent to well-known herbaria overseas for determination, it has so far not been identified. It is very likely that the herb is new to the scientific world.
There are about 58 trees of Camellia crapnelliana in the woodland. Apart from this site, this species is only known from a single tree on Mt. Parker. The speciesis listed as endangeredby the Threatened Plants Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature & Nature Resources (IUCN).
There are also 14 trees of Alianthus fordii in the woodland. This species is also listed as endangered by IUCN.
